The most important movie of the year....

I just saw this movie at a private preview and I'm not sure when it's going to be released...but I have to say: what an honest and humble look at some disturbing history.

This is an important film for people of any faith (or no faith) to see; it explores some of the origins of modern anti-semitism, the relationship between Jews and Christians over the years, and the danger of blurring the line of separation between church and state.

Jacoby accomplishes this in a riveting story-telling fashion that jumps between past and present, global and personal. James Carrol has the magnetism of Michael Moore on screen...you find yourself staring in fascination. But he has none of Moore's bravado or obnoxious pushiness. It is obvious that he is in search of the truth, not trying to shove anything down anyone's throat.

You MUST see this movie; it has implications for our political journey as a country and for our view of and role in international affairs with countries populated by those of other faiths.

It also strikes a deeply personal chord; go to this movie with a friend of another faith...and let the discussion begin.
