I was enthralled by the way the boy "Bruno," was shielded and not taught about the world. And when he was taught, he was taught ignorance. I didn't like that they spoke english Because I thought they were German. But that's the way it is in every movie I guess. Even Japanese Samurai movies from the 1600's speak English, which is ridiculous. Anyway, I liked the friendship between Bruno and "Small," I wanted them to be the best of friends to help each other to live a long life perhaps together as friends that would be able to break the barriers, the boundaries, I wanted them to unknowingly defeat ignorance. I wanted them to be able to show the world that they were not different at all and that one wasn't worse then the other they weren't better then each other they were just two eight year olds, friends. At least they showed each other. I was devastated and didn't leave the theater till long after the credits finished... That's always good sign of a great cinematic experience. WOW!!! |
