Lots of dark and somewhat morbid humor.

I took my 9 year niece and 12 year old nephew to see this movie. My nephew initially didn't want to see it because he said that it was for "little kids." However, when we walked out of the theater his first words were, "Oh man, that movie was awesome -- it was hilariuos!" I think the fact that there is a considerable amount of dark and rather morbid humor (it reminded me of A "Nightmare Before Christmas") made this a film more suitable for kids in the "tween and teen" years. I'm not really sure it's all that suitable for small tots; it's very loud, rather violent and as I said, has some morbidity. Example (***SPOILER ALERT!***) There is one scene in which a revived rabbit with a death wish gnaws off his feet to save the main character and side kick. Albeit, the film does have two good messages: (1) When Eva says, "It's better to be a good nobody, than an evil somebody" and (2)"Don't use people for personal gain." |
