I really think that it's Hollywood's right to have every year a party to give awards to... Hollywood.
But i don't know why the highest grade i can pick for this movie is called by Yahoo! "Oscar-worthy". After all the people who vote for Academy are a bunch of make-up artists, hairstylists, producers, actors and so on. I'm sure they are all very good in their job, but how much do they know about the other things in a movie. I'm sure a lot of them are stressed by the fact they have to watch "subtitled movies".
The Cannes jury is formed by 7 people who really know everything about movies. Film-makers who have the knowledge to be film-critics.
Therefor I thing Palme d'Or is the highest award a movie can receive. The statuette is more wanted because it brings MONEY. |
