Although the theme of the first 2 out of 3 parts of the movie is ‘death’, the movie is by far not tragic, rather – it is melancholic in my opinion. Just as the characters unpredictably leave the scene, their roles are filled in immediately without leaving any time for the viewer to mourn their passing. A very precise description of life. Probably one of the most beautiful scenes (besides the girls kissing each other ;) ) is the open ending leaving both the main character and the viewer thinking about how little we know or decide on this grand chessboard. |
