If you're a fan of the Hitman games, leave all of your expectations at the door. While the movie is an adaptation of the series, it doesn't really follow them at all. Yes it is 47 with his barcode, suit and silverballers, but there are no plans for his killing, which is what makes the gameplay so good. A)they couldn't make a good enough script to follow the games closer or B)they wanted to take the movie in a slightly different direction
Overall, the movie was good and worth seeing if you like action movies or movies in general. There just wasn't enough of an original plot to make it great. Olyphant was a good choice for 47, the only drawback to me was his voice...it's just not the same if your used to the game. Hopefully someone else will write and direct the sequels because as others have said, there is a lot of wasted potential. It seems as though they were just testing the waters with this film. |
