This movie is good. It coulda been great. It caught the flavor of the game... Almost. There were enough nods to the game to keep a true fan/player happy but unlike Agent 47's accuracy with any weapon, the movie kept just missing the mark. By only a little bit. The romantic entanglement was an interesting addition. 47 and the girl actually bickered though and 47 actually raised his voice emotionally at her. A no no. Get a director that actually played the game. A little less shooting and a little more clandestine weapons and weapons of opportunity would have been better. 47 needed to utilize more cloak and dagger work too. In the game 47 has all the skills of a good spy... And then some. Think total modern ninja. I mean real ninja the kind that blends. Not kids running around in black pajamas in daylight against a white background. Ninja's were the ultimate oriental assasin/spy/chameleon. 47 was that and genetically engineered too. A shot of the lab (think Contracts first level) would have been great showing he was the ULTIMATE test tube baby.
All in all, close but no cigar. try again. NO REALLY make a sequel and try again! With Jesper Kyd too!!!!!! |
