I was really impressed with Martin this time. He usually takes a lot of knocks for being to bafoonish, and not enough substance, but this time he is able to pull off both at the same time. The cast was fabulous! James Earl Jones is the most underrated actor of all time. Cedric the Entertainer was excellent, and Martin's crazy brother Reggie was hilarious, and Monique was her usual big girl with a big mouth, big attitude self. I have a cousin just like that. This movie was still funny, but funny was not the point to this movie. This movie actually had a powerful message in it hidden beneath the laughter. Family is very important, and no one should ever allow anyone to come between you and your family. Don't ever turn your back on the ones who helped make you who you are today. Great message! |
