I've never written a review for a movie, but this absolute disaster of a film has forced to to warn potential viewers. Please, please, please, please, save your money and do NOT watch this.
I loved 300 and Sin City and for weeks was looking forward to see the film. I generally avoid opening weekends because I can't stand the crowds, but I actually suffered through long lines in Hollywood to see the movie. 45 minutes into the movie, I couldn't take it anymore. My sister, fiance, and I walked out. I had never walked out of a movie, and I did see that disaster of a Jennifer Lopez movie, The Cell, in theaters.
The acting in The Spirit was just horrible. I understand that it's suppose to be over the top, but it wasn't even in line with the story. The writing sucked. He actually had a conversation with a cat for part of the film.
I can't say enough about how bad this film was. Please, just don't waste your money. |
