This movie really makes you look hard at the immigration policies of the US. It isn't about "feeling sorry for them illegals" that is the point, but rather situations (mom illegal, child US citizen) and cultural conflicts that is disturbing. As a society we need to take into account the many different circumstances and backgrounds that are lumped into the "illegal" label. The people that call this movie "liberal" are clearly disturbed when a face (and background) is put on an illegal immigrant. It is easier not to think about it I guess and "round them all up" for deportation. |
