Maybe Wrestlers should stick to...Wrestling!

Lately it seems several wrestlers are opting for acting careers. Last October we got "The Marine", a subpar actioner. Last month "The Condemned" joined the mess, and now, "Half Past Dead 2" makes its debut on DVD. You know something is wrong when you have to admit "The Marine" is the best of the crop, and "Half Past Dead 2" is by far the worst.
What little there is of a plot consists of a a prisoner take-over at a Missouri prison. Bill Goldberg proves himself an actor who is in over his head. He isn't expected to show much emotion here, however, he fails at delivering a single believable line. Kurupt is along for comic-relief wisecracking, which becomes tedious very fast.
Why was "Half Past Dead 2" made? That is a hard question to answer. Maybe the producers felt that Goldberg's name would spark interest. Intead, those who see this mess are much more likely to avoid and future film with his name attached. |
