Anyone who hates this movie because of its ending is shallow. This film was an excercise in human nature. The actual "threat" could have been anything. In this came it was monsters/creatures from another dimension. But they were not what made this movie a true hooror movie. It was the ideas, actions and mistakes that we make as humans when faced with the fear of death or worse. I do not agree with the actions of the characters at the very end and you could tell the director who also added this ending to Stephen Kings novella didnt agree with them either. What he created was something that will haunt for a long time. The suffering that comes with making a bad choice in a desperate situation. This was a horror movie people. There should be no happy endings. The film makers actually took less money to do this ending and I respect them for that. Real life doesnt always have a light of hope at the end of the tunnel. Real life sometimes justs beats you up and leaves you for dead on the side of the road. A great movie because it haunts you long after youve seen it. |
