The movie is well shot, with an honest attempt to get its viewers to relive a nightmare. Unfortunately one gets the feeling while watching that the makers of the film want credit for the courage of dissenting, but there's no courage where there's no danger. This is another attempt to paint with a broad brush a complex and unfortunate reality: war. Is Abu Ghraid the right vehicle to make larger criticisms about the nature of mankind? One doesn't need to sit through this movie to answer that question - just pick up the New York Times... |
