This was a tremendously entertaining film, capturing the flower of man's eternal struggle to reach his full potential and excel above all others -- in the rarefied world of classic video games.

Steve Wiebe is the archetypal everyman who unlocks his hidden superman as a Donkey Kong virtuoso. Brian Mitchell is the glorious epitome of the vaunting, hypocritical master nerd. Like a collision in a particle accelerator, their rivalry leads to all sorts of odd and exotic phenomena: garage break-ins, dubious videotapes smuggled in the dead of night, and a deliciously awkward accidental confrontation.

Along the way we meet an unforgettable cast of secondary characters: Doris Self, the octogenarian Q*Bert champion; Walt Days, the minstrel, guru, and global high-score arbiter; and the musclebound and unbelievably garish Mister Awesome, outcast master of Missile Command.

This movie will entertain anybody interested in athletic rivalry or eccentric geniuses, but those who appreciate classic gaming will be glued to their seats.

Full of memorable one-liners and profound insights as it is, I can't wait to see this movie again.
