The "Box" is worth a look
by Philip (movies profile)
Sep 30, 2007
"The Box" is an entertaining, albeit violent, film with few settings and cast. The plot line revolves around a home invasion which quickly turns fatal for many castmembers. Several victims are tortured before their demise as the invaders demand to know where a million bucks has been stashed. After the homocides, detectives work to sort out what happened with two suspects who are in the "box," a police interrogation room. The story contains many twists and turns, some more obvious than others, but I won't give them up here.
The film is of the right length and the acting is overall better than I expected. The language and violence may give parents heartburn but it is relevent to the film.
The screenwriter stated he was influenced by the "Usual Suspects" and those who see this film will readily agree.
"The Box" was shown at the 2007 San Diego Film Festival before a small audience including this paying cutomer. |
