That's what I continually pondered watching this meandering, slop. It was produced by David Gordon Green and has the earmarkings of something by him like the awful Undertow. Three slow witted dullards named Son, Kid and Boy (no, I'm serious) attend the funeral of their father and when Son expectorates on the coffin trouble erupts between these three and their four half-brothers each wanting revenge even to kill each other. Shannon who was in last year's failure Bug plays Son (I s'spose dad ran out of human names)as a sluggard who does nothing but gamble and cares not a lick for his younger son, he just sees the boy as an excuse to go fishing. The violence is the after effect which is all right, but the movie moves sooo sloooowly a race between five snails and three tortoises would've been better viewing than this nonsense. |
