Nice & bold..Bravo Nadine Labaki!u've proved how skilled u r in clips n now u proved how talented u r in terms of directing n acting too!good start in the Lebanese movie industry. The film touches the feelings in a (chic)way, exposing the deep hidden emotional problems of the Arabic women, the picture& music speaks louder than the scenario in that movie that remids me with STEEL MAGNOLIAS. Excellent role that of Nadine Labaki(Layal)& Siham Haddad(tante Rose).
focusing the light on menopause problem was great and new,and although it is not a taboo issue but it was too much direct.
"To Beirut" that's what Labaki dedicated the film to,that beautiful city that is full of contradictions of modernity and strong ethical traditions,,, Christianity and Islam,,,Beirut is like that beauty salon of of the sokkar-banaat "SiBelle".
Keep up the good work Labaki !!!!
I wish i would have the opportunity to meet or work with u one day.
my regards |
