First of all, even if you didn't like the trailer, you should still go see this movie. It is really more than just action and animation and funny characters that I've expected, but a lot more. I see alot of thoughts and chinese culture being put into this animation, and I was amazed and surprised at some details they put into all the scenes. I would say it is a very novel and interesting westernized take on a chinese kungfu+culture story made into a very cute and funny movie with animal characters. Other than the philosophy brought forward by "Uguay"(which means turtle in chinese), there are some interesting culture popping up very natually and almost unnoticeable by most. I don't want to spoil it for some, so only read after this sentence if you want to know some details of the movie.

very real:
1. the Po bedroom scene
2. the noodle shop and cart
3. the mountains and peaks, very art like and is a part of "water-ink painting" landscapes
4. all the "kungfu" music they used to accompany the fighting scenes and the celebration music of dragon warrior
5. brick topped roofs that fall off

just a few I noticed that seemed interesting:

1. The bowls falling off Po is a hint of a method of chinese fortune telling. The one up and one down bowl is a good sign.
2. kicking of "dumplings" is hinting at a kind of sport that kicks a feather attached item.
3. calligraphy
4. acupuncture
5. the hand together gesture with one fist, specific gesture used by kungfu drama/movies.
6. the "dead spot" pointing is a kind of technique in fighting, where they poke at certain body area and they freeze, very interesting to see animated.
7. Framed paper walls
8. The chinese fireworks and the carrying carriage for the warrior

:)
