I took my 13 year old and my 9 year old daughters to see it tonight and it sparked a lot of conversation with my 13 year old, but my 9 year old missed the point entirely. All she focused on was the romance between the mom and the main character. I loved it but with my teen, we discussed what the character learned and how he grew. We also discussed how it could have been better - deeper involvement and more complex. It was good but it could have been great. It reminded me of "Facing the Giants"...Good, not great. I'm just glad to see more films being released that I feel safe taking my children to see. |
