Don't Bother "Finding Amanda"
by david s (movies profile)

Unless you're easily moved by sappy, backwards fluff that tries to be uplifting and look like it's about something.
What it's actually about is a T.V. writer with a gambling-addiction whose niece ends up hooking in Vegas. So to prove to his wife that he can handle his addiction, Mathew Broderick goes to Vegas to play the ponies....er, find Amanda(Brittney Snow, kind-of combining her squeaky clean American Dreams and somewhat saucier Hairspray roles).
But when he gets there, at first, it seems Amanda's the happiest hooker alive!
To be honest, my biggest problem is that no one is particularly likable in this movie, or, if they are, you just want them to smack someone in the face and say, "Enough, already!"
The worst thing is the ending is pretty much a non-ending and falls out of the sky, with no real resolution that will ever make up for the fact that I just waisted 2 hours of my Life! |
