"We have had enough to divide us on this issue; we need to start healing." These are the words of the filmaker, as I remember them, said during the Q&A after the viewing I attended. I left giving thanks to God that I have a resource to share with my parishioners on the subject of homosexuality and scripture. Though in reality, this documentary goes far beyond the issue of interpreting particular passages of scripture, and leads us on the journey of recognizing the need for theologians and clergy to give people permission and tools to explore the Bible and the complexities of loving one another.
My deepest thanks to all who gave of their lives and stories to make this remarkable film. |
