I saw this movie last week. It was very good. There's a lot about Jimmy Carter, but there's also a lot about the reaction of the public. Fascinating to see these people who want to stifle debate, and resort to calling for anyone who disagrees wuth them to die or be killed. There was a Harvard professor shown named Alan Dershowitz who was practically foaming at the mouth! He referred to Palestinians as "below human" and "cockroaches". Usually when people speak of cockroaches, they talk about exterminating them. I didn't hear this right wing professor actually saying they should be exterminated, but what he did say was disgusting! Then there was some group of protesters in Arizona calling for gentiles to be smited by God. But with all these negative things, there were also some heart-warming moments. For example, when Mr. Carter was talking to a group of students at Brandeis University -- which is apparently near Harvard -- the kids loved him. I think he had a great suggestion, that the students and faculty should form a group to go to Palestine and see the concentration camps for themselves, and form their own opinions. I'd love to do that; I think it'd be really eye opening. I think this is a film every one should see before they cast their votes for the next president. |
