Just didn't live up to Joe somehow.

I awaited this film intently, but I was again dissapointed in another faltering documnetary about Joe Strummer. I did love the clips of him as a youth and with his family at the end. However, as others have mentioned, I felt the "celebrities" just dulled the whole thing down. Joe was human and made his share of mistakes and blunders. Still, a great many people loved him and miss him still, myself included. I was lucky enough to see The Clash twice in person, and also to meet Joe and chat for a dew minutes at the first show I saw. Maybe those memories are just so cherished and vivid, that any film just doesn't come close. R.I.P. Joe. |
