All you S&M fans out there : Here's something for you ! The rest : don't do this to you.
The story does not make any sense. The central idea of a computer system which has unlimited access to every other system (weapons, power, survilance, databases etc.), which is designed to run autonomically and make it's own decissions _and_ which is _designed_ to be beyond any control of any humans has been already redicoulus in the B-movies of the 50s and 60s.
The original 'Wargames' was already laughable in idea and execution, but at least it played with the applealing idea that a very complex system can not handle a simple paradox. In this 'sequel' there is no such idea. Just a big pile of buzz-words without context and some bland hints of existing technologies (also without context) mixed together.
Add minimalistic sets, bad acting and even worse direction to the laughable story and you have a major train-wreck on your hands. Right up there with 'Plan 9 from outer space' and 'Attack of the killer tomatoes'. |
