Not since Team America have I laughed at such a parody of the absurd. I went to see Team America because I thought it would be like 'Thunderbirds." Not. And I laughed myself sick. Its funny because it's stupid. Except for the R rated stuff, it's not dumber than Saturday morning cartoons. It started when the projection room cut the film in half. I thought that was part of the movie. Made it funnier than heck. Anyhow, when the old style intermission characters started strutting across the screen, it was another touch of nostalgia. You have to be old enought to remember things like that and drive in intermissions. It was stupid, crude, made my husband fall asleep. I laughed and embarrassed my 17 year old. Will I buy the DVD? No, would I see it again, no. Saw if for free cause my husband won free movie passes. But I haven't laughed so hard for quite a while. And all the movies pretty much suck anymore anyway. This one didn't even try to be pretentious. |
