The Jane Austin Book Club is a pleasant diversion, pointing out how romance and its complications have'nt changed since Jane wrote her novels in the 19th Century. The more things change, the more they remain the same is the message. The performances by the cast are uniformly good, with maria Bello, Kathy Baker, and Emily Blunt stand outs. I would say if you want to take a young lady to a Saturday night "date movie" this is the one. Otherwise wait until the DVD. |
