we were blown away by the quality of this film and the story itself, which is based on true events. It is heartwarming, and genuine in many ways that so many of today's film are lacking. It is intense in subject matter, and certainly won't be favored by the Japanese in terms of its dealings with their absolutely brutal treatment of the Chinese peoples during their invasion in the '30s. The performances are 1st rate all the way around. A must see in this day and age. |
