Wow! A knockout! At our mall we sometimes get independent films in and I usually try to catch them if I have the money, ($5 instead of $1.50). This runs circles around most major films too!
The poster and name just like turns off the desire to see it.
It is about an Englishman who goes to China during the pre-WWII stages of Japan's envasion of China. Enough said without popping the most excellent film.
Very little, false god worship in the film. It is a very amazing story.
From best foreign film to best actor even. Of course as with all Chinese films these days the Crough Tiger Hidden Dragon people seem to show up in the main cast.
On the side another good foreign film, was Tell No One (started off slow, thiller, mystery, subtitled in English, but a good action/thiller after midway, with my opinion the main actor looking a lot like Dustin Hoffman, Like Dusty who did you... in Europe?). Kinda' American movies mixed up into a foreign film (not new ideas, one will notice afterwards).
Since I am on look-a-likes, check out Taitor where the main actor looks like the guy from the 60's TV show Mission Impossible (like his son?) |
