The writing and directing in this film are incredibly well done. Russell Crowe plays a villain and does such a superb job you might find yourself routing for the bad guy as much as the protagonist. Christian Bale does the best work of his career. Christian’s character is very different from the psychos he often has played so well. The great acting of this film is rounded out by Ben Fosters character “Charlie Prince,” who many will say steals the show. In a perfect world the aforementioned entertainers will be adding little gold statues to their collections. This film is well worth the price of admission. |
