For the people unhappy with the ending, I agree. For those who felt it was the best ever... it simply wasn't. The Coens had all the tension going in this film. I didn't mind the "slow parts". The pacing was fine with me. Until a certain scene where you're thinking "what the bleep just happened?" That's the scene when Tommy Lee Jones' character happens upon the aftermath of a bloodbath at some motel. Javier Bardem is amazing as the villain. The casting was perfect. But the Coen bros. should have strayed from the book & delivered some kind of a cleaner ending. 85% great movie 15% unnecessary fat, especially the last 15-20 mins.
Could have been a great movie, but falls short. I'm not a fan of typical Hollywood films but this one should have a delivered a much better ending, period. |
