The Real Superman II At Last!

First let me say I grew up on the orrignal Superman II and will forever enjoy it. That said I was one of the many fans pettioning for years to get this released. Well the years of waiting have paid off. We finally get our wish in seeing what Superman 2 would have been if Donner was allowed to finish it. As many know Donner filmed Superman and Superman II simultainously and about 80% of the way through Superman II creative differences forced the producers to fire him and hire Richard Lester who reshot 50% of the film and did not use any of the footage shot with Marlon Brando and only used what footage he had to of Donners. Thus now there are a few scenes he was unable to restore and some that was never shot so he had to use some of Lesters. The movie flows good and is a shining example of why he should have been alowed to finish it. I will always love the orriginal but I will also cherrish this new version as the "True Superman II". |
