The author (who's a famous female writer in Chinese history) of Lust. Caution wrote: "The route to a man's heart is through his stomach; the route to a women's heart is through her vagina." You have to understand its meaning to enjoy this movie. The erotic scenes are essential because it expresses how Wong Chia Chi first sacrificed her body and finally in love with Yee. This explains why she lets Yee go and why she didn't commit suicide with the pill. All characters are complicated, it's not a Hollywood 'good buy bad guy' movie. It's a great great movie and I've not been this touched for years by a movie. |
