i, like a previous reviewer, had not heard about this movie until 4 days ago.
what does hollywood have against intelligent, clever and true sci-fi scripts???
do they think nobody but us sci-fi geeks will go see it?
compared to the drek that has been coming out of hollywood for the past couple of years, this movie was a surprising breath of fresh air.
the monster is truly inspired and wonderfully rendered and realistic enough to make you forget it is not real.
the actors are professional enough to make you forget they are acting in front of a green screen and emoting to thin air. it is so nice to see that caliber of professionalism without the taint of "the cult of personality"
yeah, its "13th warrior" meets "predator" but it is clever and fresh enough not to bore. |
