I liked this movie. Definitely an enjoyable, entertaining movie. I liked the juxtaposition of Vikings with an alien / spaceman. It's almost like a Beowulf-type movie but with some twists. I loved Jim Cavaziel in this. Wow. It's certainly as good or better than much of the other dribble put out by Hollywood and this one actually had some intelligence to it. It wasn't just another cookie-cutter movie for marketing stuff. At first I thought it would be too much like Planet of the Apes, but then I got caught up in the story of it and found it is unique. It kept my attention and I cared about the characters. So overall, it's a good flick. Only part is that at times it was hard to follow what the monster was doing. I really liked the good basic dramatic parts of the movie - the stranger in the village, the tension and arc of the story. |
