Unconvincing acting married to a terrible script

Macy is completely miscast and much too old and wrinkled to be a daring smug rakish romantic lead. His acting is truly bad and there is no chemistry between him and Ryan. Ryan for her part plays the same worn out affectations she plays in every movie she is in.Yes she is cute, and easily flustered, we get it.
The characters were badly written and the plot is at once insulting, non sensical and at no times in paraody with anything resembling life.
LL Cool J is miscast as an action hero turned orthodox Jew. Kidnapped by terrorists this becomes a blase comedy point. Ryan departs her 7 year relationship to engage in an affair with old, creepy, ugly, impoverished Macy (whom she hated minutes before) with out the need for closure or any hint of guilt.
Yes I get that this is supposed to be a satire about those superfiscial hollywood types, but there isn't anything funny about this bloated piece of crap. Don't see, buy or rent. I want my $1.09 back from RedBox. |
