I love Jackman and McGregor, and mystery movies are usually great. But this movie was awful, and worse, boring. The people sitting behind me *fell asleep* during a 1:00 matinée. My date and I kept checking our watches, counting down the minutes to the end. I was sure that there had to be a redeeming moment for this movie, that the actors involved have enough cachet that they wouldn't be in a movie that sucked.
I was wrong.
The film starts with Johnathan the auditor working very late and very alone. In comes Wyatt, cool lawyer. The share some pot and some stories. And anyone who likes to read mysteries already knows Wyatt is setting Johnathan up for some kind of big theft seeing as he has total access to these firms' books and no connection to anyone in the real world.
Wyatt and Johnathan become friends. "Accidentally" switch phones. Annnnd... sex club! Sex, sex, sex, for a poor Johnathan who hadn't been getting any. More sex, until *DING!* he meets the girl he saw in passing in the subway a month ago.
It is, of course, all a set up. It's a badly paced and poorly written mystery, with pointless reveals since anyone with two brain cells has figured it all out way ahead of time.
The ending? Also totally fake in feel.
