I've seen this movie twice. Yes the story line is dark and it's not a "Superbad" type of flick. The cast boasts two Oscar winners in Jennifer Connolly and Mira Sorvino. Oscar nominated Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo give two of the most intense performances you will ever see. Oscar nominated Terry George who directed "Hotel Rwanda" guides these actors with a sensitive and intelligent hand. It is beautifully filmed and features a terrific score by Oscar nominated Mark Isham (Emmy and Grammy winner). In other words there is a tremendous amount of talent on display here. For the serious viewer, this film offers a great deal to be savored. |
