Spoiler:
First of all, the death of the couple's son happened so early in the movie that I couldn't possibly believe that it would have made me so emotional. HOWEVER...the acting, and especially the direction, when it came to the families' reaction to the death was so extremely powerful that it blew my mind. Terrific.
Also, Mark Rufalo's performance of the guilt-ridden hit and run driver was stunning. Should he turn himself in or should he keep quiet and hope he's not caught. I felt drawn in completely.
Yes, maybe the movie seemed a tad bit "TV movie", but ultimately it really delivered.
