I just saw it today. I was so excited after having read the book and finding the movie sold out last night that I could hardly contain myself. I loved the book and most all of Phillippa Gregory's books and was devastatingly disappointed by the movie. They not only skipped 3/4's of the book but changed the rest of it to suit. They should have made it a miniseries, that way they could have concentrated more on the book instead of skipping around so much that even one who hasn't read the book couldn't understand the sequence of events. Also, not once in the movie did they advertise the years this was supposed to be going on. For one who is not familiar with this time period they were lost. Details are important film makers!! You skipped so much that the movie had very little to do with the book and I can't even begin to list all that was skipped from the book because it was so much. I would be surprised to think that Ms. Gregory had much to do with this film. Truth be told, the only thing this movie made me want to do is come home and reread the book so I could get that sour taste of this movie out of my mind. My suggestion is to get the book and save your money on the movie, |
