I like Owen Wilson, but I've already seen Wedding Crashers...Its like the same character, just now, he's homeless and scamming kids instead of females at weddings. (Same sequence of events here...The scam, he becomes attached to the kids, he gets a teacher to fall in love, he then feels guilty, wants to come clean with all, but cant, then he gets busted, everyone hates him, but they still really love him-cause he's Owen Wilson)
The bullying in this movie does not fit the goofiness of the rest of the movie. The hatred and degree of meanness portrayed by the bad guys is too real and too violent. At times the horror of the dorks is too real and disturbing. When the laughs are supposed to come, you're still recovering from the odd bullying scenes. It was also bizarre seeing Josh from "Drake and Josh" be a bad guy. He seemed to like it too much, and was too convincing. (Like all those years of being the fat whimpy kid on Nickelodeon have been bottled up and he's ready to go postal.) Not a flick you want your sub 12 year old to see. Lots of bad language and the violence...sheesh! |
