I am stunned that some of the Yahoo reviewers act like they went to see "Gone with the Wind". This movie, as most of Ben Stiller's projects, are made for a laugh, a laugh is never cheap, jokes never get old, they just get done over and over again which is why comedy is so prevalent in todays society. Is this Ben's best project to date, probably not, but it accomplishes everything it set out to do, make you laugh for an hour and a half. He is never going to win an Oscar but has submitted us to a life of laughter, be somewhat grateful for that. "Heartbreak Kid" is a funny movie, with many pranks and lines that we have heard and seen done over and over for years, you go with what works in this industry, very rarely do you see a comedy that walks the tightrope of funny on it's own. The Farrelly Bros are in a class by themselves when it comes to making us laugh. "Mary" was phenomenal, "Irene" was funny, this is nothing other than a funny movie worthy of seeing....if anything, for the fun of it. |
