Since the sensitives are the first to file their reviews I thought I should help balance things out a bit.
This movie is the first Farrelly bros. movie in a while to harken back to their over the top gut busting films like There's Something About Mary Dumb & Dumber and Kingpin. While this film is a little more grounded in reality, it still gives you gut laughs, gross out cringe humor and they hilarious ineptitude of Ben Stiller trying to get the girl.
Malin Akerman is great as the insanely beautiful and just plain insane new wife. Some may remember her as Freakshow's wife from Harold and Kumar, but will no doubt see her more now that she's filming Watchmen, Zach Snyder's follow-up to his last hit film 300!
Michelle Monagham is charming as the true match to Ben's character Eddie. There's a believable chemistry between the two and their scenes offer up lighter moments between the gut buster laughs and shock moments.
The cast is rounded out well with Ben's real life father Jerry Stiller as a horny father, Carlos Mencia as a shifty hotel consierge and Rob Corddry as a whipped married husband.
Honestly, if you're the type of person who enjoyed the earlier Farrelly brothers films, you will most likely enjoy this movie. But if you're not that type then you should save your ticket money and wait for it on cable so you can confirm your predetermined bias. |
