I just saw Funny Games and was blown away. While i was watching it I didn't know what to feel about it but afterwords my friends and I just kept talking about it and I have come to the conclusion that it is freaking brilliant!
I have not seen the original but I hear its completely the same pretty much. But props to Hanke for giving us a chance for an actual horror movie i wouldn't even call it a horror movie. This movie to me was completely original I have been so sick of those god damn blood and guts slasher torture movies.
The blood was minimal. Acting was absolutely amazing and how the film was shot was brilliant there's just one scene I HATED but the rest made it better. I didnt even think it was the violent all the violence was off screen and the dialogue between Michael Pitt and his accomplice Brady Corbet was hilarious but then it comes down to the fact the it's torture and your feel ashamed of laughing.
I know why people are gonna hate it because its not your typical horror crap that comes out of holly wood but i would ask them to give it a chance and just think back on it and realize how different and original this movie is.
It also make the viewer realize and question how much violence is too much. And to me those stupid saw movies is too much violence.
Give me a well thought out horror movie like this Funny Games and Im all for it. I probably wont see Funny Games again cause ill probably hate it but this first time blew me away. |
