P2 is one of those rare movies that becomes very polarized. After watching it you either hate it or love it depending on your expectations. I went in as a horror/thriller movie buff and with no expectations. And I loved it! Now don't go in expecting an oscar caliber movie, be a little humble and fun with it.
First, the first thing that gets you is the creepy music. The score is unbelievable. Really well done by the composers.
Second, the acting is really great! Both Rachel Nichols and Wes Bently just found their break out rolls no matter how good or bad it does at the box office. In fact, Wes Bently's character Thomas is one of those characters who may go down in Horror/Thriller movie history as one of the best character/performances. Just think Jack Nicholson in "The Shining!" He gives you goose bumps...that's how creepy!
Bottom line: Not gonna win an oscar anytime soon, but one for the collection for all us horror/Thriller buffs! May become a cult classic in time! |
