Very entertaining for kids and their parents, (or adults who just like a nice, clean, fantasy story)! The numerous children seated nearby had us worried before the movie started, but we didn't hear any disturbances from them after the film began--they were all too captivated by it! The family in the story were genuine and believable, and there was even a lesson to be learned about the importance of parental figures in the lives of their children. The fantasy characters were well-crafted and created enough suspense to keep kids on the edge of their seats, but not so scary as to cause nightmares. Probably, the existence of a humorous mini-monster who helped the kids with their quest offset the fear factor from the "evil" ones.....This could be a great stepping stone to the love of reading if parents pick up the series for their kids after the've watched the movie. |
