This is a fine tale, well told, of "culture shock", as a Bangladeshi family immigrates to London and each family member tries to find their way in the new world. Religion and politics, parental relations and the role of husbands and wives in a Muslim culture are explored with sensitivity. There are no "villains", just people unhappy with their new lives. |
