A Conspiracy of Indifference

The Prisoner of How I Planned to Kill Tony Blair is a sequel of sorts to the 2004 release "Gunner Palace" and the two films together make fine book-ends to the war-to-date.
In Gunner Palace, we saw the soldiers story. In The Prisoner, we see the same war--in the same part of Baghdad--from the perspective of an Iraqi journalist who is then arrested under the charge: Planning to Assassinate Tony Blair.
The story would be funny if it wasn't true. Unbelievably, Yunis Abbas spent almost nine months in Abu Ghraib for a crie he did not commit and his story tells us much about the indifference of his jailers.
The film may still be playing in theaters according to the film's web site--if not, I hope more people can see it on DVD and Netflix.
