A thought-provoking piece of fictional documentary

Are movies (PRIOR TO 9/11) portraying the destruction of New York city wrong? Is depicting the futuristic fictional bombing in Paris or London wrong? If not so, then why is making a living person dead IN A PIECE OF FICTION wrong? I don't understand why people are so upset at this.
This movie is merely commenting on current politics, using a fictional event to bring out the fictional cause and fictional public reaction that might reflect the social reality. It's not a movie merely screaming for hype at the expense of the feelings of some people; it's a commentary that uses a clever (albeit disturing and controvercial) technique to express the filmakers' views on today's political world. I will say no more.
And no, Bush-bashing is never old; as long as he's still President and the main player in the polictical arena, any comments on him and his administration cannot be trivial. Considering that the long-term (ill) effects of his awful work, whether on the nation and the globe, are already surfacing (if not glaring), I don't think that a careful evaluation (such as this movie) of Bush's policies and numerous campaigns could be safely ignored. |
