I expected a typical gross humor movie from the commercials, the type my 10 year old thinks is funny but I roll my eyes at. The first 1/3 of the movie was certainly that. But I was surprised that the rest of the movie had a pretty good story. It was not a new theme - cheaters never win -- but you can't demonstrate that enough to your kids. Plus all the kids in the camp showed teamwork and acceptance of each other which are pretty good themes too. Each used the qualities that made them unique to help the team as a whole. Look, the movie isn't Oscar material but as a mom of 3 boys, I've seen much, much worse. |
