Oh, House, what can I say.
The trailer looked pretty good I would say: lots of variety in plot and shocking visuals. It's not a remake of the older movie of the same title, but here's what this movie is:
It's a bit of a copycat of lots of other movies put together. I got really no new feelings coming from this movie. There's a Jason-like ski mask wearing guy called the Tin Man (OoO0Oo!!) and of course there's the oh crap we somehow got our tires slashed in the middle of nowhere, it's raining, we're fighting, no cell phones, now we just happen to find this old creepy house that maybe has a phone.
Then there's the creepy old family who immediately gives you the shivers but you stay around anyway. There's an old lady and old man played by the two same characters from the DEVIL'S REJECTS talkin about how everyone is a sinner and blah blah blah. I'm so bored of that crap already!!
Anyways it's got this Saw-esque, Jason-esque, House on Haunted Hill, People Under the Stairs, plus every other crap B horror film ever made VIBE to it. It's silly, low-budget, acting NOT memorable, you don't really give a crap about the actors even kind of hoping they die so you can leave, and the ending is kind of a surprise, but that in itself isn't worth the $15 in LA that I paid. |
